Don't Rx a lab: A uric acid level that's a bit higher than the reference range isn't something that you want to complicate your life by trying to manage. It simply lets your physician know that joint or kidney problems may be gout. Drink plenty of water so that your urine stays reasonably light and clear. Your physician can decide whether your current rx for birth control is the right one. Ignore "pop" advice.

None: If you have no history of gout or kidney stones, then nothing needs to be done. Studies have repeatedly shown that diet has only a marginal effect on serum uric acid levels.
