I looked at the : hype online. Both seem questionable to me. The 60 day insanity program seems too short and may lead to rapid weight loss that may come back just as quickly. I would have a physical before doing any extreme workout program. I would recommend starting exercising gradually and increasing it over time. Find exercises that you enjoy and can continue for life not for just 60 days.

There is no one size: Fits all recommendation. Both programs are based on high intensity interval training/circuit training. In reality the best exercise program is one that you are going to stick to, enjoy and not get hurt doing. This can take many different forms.
