A member asked:

Will a physical therapist have access to a patient's medical history?

Dr. Rose Wynn answered

Not all do: Pt centers affiliated with hospitals or clinics that use an interconnected, shared electronic system (presuming electronic medical records) may have access, but there are many independent pt centers and they usually do not have access. Access is usually on a 'need to know' basis and should be hippa (privacy) compliant.
