Blood cancer or tx: Immature white blood cells can be normal if they are located in the blood factory ( bone marrow ) and lead to further blood development. If the blood cells are very immature and replicating out of control in the blood factory, then this is typically called a leukemia. For some special types of leukemias, such as chronic myeloid, Gleevec (imatinib) or this drug class often control the illness for many years.

Gleevec (imatinib): Gleevec (imatinib) is indicated for a condition called chronic myelogeneous leukemia as well as given to patient with philadelphia positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Immature white blood cells which is called blast would be found in acute leukemia. It also can be found in chronic myelogenous leukemia.
