What do you suggest if my bun was 9 and my creatinine was 1.31 after being discharged from the hospital?

That's nice: If you're a slender woman, your creatinine might be a bit high. If you're an average-or-better muscled man, this is perfectly fine. With the lowish bun, you're probably not in kidney failure. If you feel well, get retested when your physician thinks best.
