Nose: Sit down, head straight, pinch your nose at the bottom and put icepacks over the bridge of the nose. Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen. If it continues to bleed best to go to the ER..

Nose Bleed: You are still bleeding but now you are swallowing the blood which will irritate your stomach. You need to go to ER for cautery or packing to control the bleeding and you may need to have an evaluation for the cause of the bleeding. Do not lean your head back. Lean forward and put pressure on the nose by pinching the anterior portion.
