Chronic cough: If you have been producing phlegm for more than two months, a work up is indicated. This may include an imaging test such as an x ray or ct scan. In addition, your physician can evaluate the sputum for a variety of bacterial, fungal and viral causes. It is also important to have a TB skin test called a PPD test. Prmg respiratory will rev records at fax 858 259 9689 . I hope this helps.
