Hard to say.: You may have a kneecap tracking issue, or you could have a meniscus tear. Hard to say, just by reading your question. But, you should see an orthopedic sports medicine knee specialist, for an exact diagnosis. You can certainly ice the knee for 20 minutes at a time, 3-4 times per day. You can take an over the counter anti-inflammatory medication as well. That can only help.
