A subconjunctival : Hemorrhage is when blood accumulates between the sclera (white of the eye) and the conjunctiva (transparent membrane over the sclera). Usually this is self-resolving and benign. Blunt trauma to the eye though may cause damage to the lens, retina, trabecular meshwork, iris, etc. It is best to have a dilated exam to evaluate all your internal ocular structures.
