Why ???????: Babies are a work in progress & fat is a necessary part of their diet. The rapidly growing brain uses cholesterol to form the insulating layer surrounding nerve attachments as they form & as the basic molecule from which various hormones are built. Failure to receive appropriate sources of dietary fat in the rapid growth period of infancy can result in permanent developmental impairment.

Babies need fat: Babies need fat for brain development so please do not subject your baby to a no fat diet. Whole milk is needed after one year on nonallergic children for at least one year. Babies should be on breast milk or formula for brain development. If you have older children, you can use 2% milk. It is better to eat more healthy options such as fruits/veggies, lean meats than looking for low fat options.
