But don't expect a dramatic change. If you want that hollywood white smile you can't go wtong with professional whitening from a dentists office. Sort of: Hydrogen peroxide is the original basis for the newer whitening agents, and they are a lot safer than hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide should only be used sparingly and on a limited basis in the mouth due to its powerful oxidizing capabilities. It has the potential to affect normal tissues and cause them to change, and sometimes not for the better.
