Start by seeing a Dr: Maybe she needs meds, maybe she needs a d;c. This is the type of problem that should be addressed in a doctors office and not solved on an internet forum.

Abn bleeding : Your mom needs to see a doctor to get a checkup ultrasound etc. It is not normal even near menopause to bleed for a month. She could have a polyp or growth or hormonal imbalance or even something a little more concerning.

She needs a doc: There are several reasons she could be having abnormal bleeding. It could just be from getting close to menopause and having hormonal fluctuations, but it could also be from something worrisome like cancer. The only way to know is for her to get checked.
