Several possibles: At age 2 the most common possibilities are the eruption of new teeth (teething) if the bleeding is coming from behind the areas where there are existing teeth. Another option is primary herpes which would also exhibit multiple ulcers (gray/white sores with reddened rings around them). Treatment is palliative, antibiotics are of no help.
