A member asked:

Can your chin move forward in a few weeks because of tmd? is there something you can do about this? would this interfere with my tmj problems?

Yes: Certain tmd conditions that involve capsulitis or retrodiscitis would produce a forward posturing of the lower jaw or chin. Typically once the inflammatory aspects of these problems are addressed and reduced, the jaw assumes its normal posture.

Get evaluated: If your intra-capsular cartilage is displaced, it may require intervention to recapture it. Please get it evaluated to decide if it is likely to resolve on it's own or if something more is required.

Definitely, yes: due to a bilateral spasm of the Lateral Pterygoid muscle. Temporo-mandibular disorder is the second most frequent cause of orofacial pain after dental pain. Proper diagnosis is the key for the successful treatment. See an orofacial pain practitioner for a consultation and management.
