Don't question, Go!: I am not one to advocate using the er as an urgent care. However, it is the weekend, and it sounds like you are in immediate distress. If you've already called your doctor's office, and it says to proceed to the er, and s/he is not able to return your call, then you should go. My motto is, that if you have to ask whether you should go or not, then it's time to go! you don't want this festering.

Sinusitis: Sinusitis doesn't cause burning as far down as the neck and shoulder. Perhaps you're having some reaction to prolonged Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) treatment. If symptoms persist or worsen, have your physician examine you.
