A member asked:

Is it possible to have weekly 'surges' of hormones form low cortisol from over-medicated testosterone and other chemical imbalances, with bad anxiety?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No, not really: Testosterone and cortisol are inversely related. Age, anxiety ; depression can cause cortisol levels to go up. Higher levels are not necessarily due to excess testosterone treatments. Testosterone is an anabolic steroid and causes the buildup of lean muscle mass and strength and cortisol is a catabolic steroid. It does the opposite and is linked to ischemic heart disease due to Insulin resistance.
