Be concerned: You shouldn't worry, but you should be concerned. Discoloration of the tooth is not normal take your toddler to a children's dentist to make a diagnosis, and see if there is any treatment necessary.

Toddler dental injur: Toddlers do fall and if the tooth is showing discoloration, you should seek dental consult, but for the most part the tooth will fall out later and not to worry his permanent tooth will grow when it is ready!

See Pedodontist: Nerve of tooth damaged. Discoloration similar to black and blue mark. Usually not a problem, but every once in a while underlying permanent tooth can be adversely affected. Children should see dentist at age 1 for 1st dental check up. As your child has injury, please call a pediatric dental specialist for evaluation. Call now.
