My question is why you had a gyn exam at 19? Pap tests for cervical cancer shouldn’t start before 21 years old regardless of age or sexual behavior. Unless you had vaginal discharge, discomfort with sex, or having pelvic or abdominal pain, a pelvic exam is NO LONGER part of a routine gyn appt!!! All birth control methods, except an IUD, DO NOT need, and should be prescribed without a pelvic!
