A member asked:

Bright red blood in stool one time. rectal exam showed no evidence of internal or external hemorrhoids. no pain. drank 3 beers previous night. 30 yrs.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need further eval: 3 beers should have nothing to do with having rectal bleeding, but are at the upper limit of what is considered a safe drinking range for women (4 or fewer and average of 1 or less drink per day). If a rectal exam did not show any cause, it would be prudent to get a referral to a GI specialist to see if they felt that a proctoscopy or colonoscopy was indicated, depending on personal/family history.
