IOt depends.: Do you agree that you have an anxiety problem? Your dr. Will prescribe the medicine if he is convinced that you need it. If so, do take the medications. If in doubt, get a second opinion.

Antianxiety med: I cannot answer your question without knowing your exact diagnosis, the medication prescribed and whether or not you had a thorough psychiatriic evaluation. You should call your doctor and ask him why the medication is nessecary, what the side effects and potential benefits are and if there are non- medicinal treatments, eg psychotherapy, that should tried first.
