No: Infant should have an active CMV infection.

No: The damage to hearing is caused by active invasion of the tissues by CMV germs when the mother has it for the first time during pregnancy.A large portion of the adult population both male & female tests positive for prior CMV infection, once they have had they are immune & don't pass it or any damage to their infants.
