Yes: The prevailing information when i looked into this stated a firm preference for mothers voice was established by 8 hours(compaired to similar sounding women) with dad trailing behind a bit at 24 hrs. So the answer is sort of both yes and no. I find it amazing that a newborn can sort out all the new sounds they have to deal with that soon.
