Does having an ascus pap at age 23 (resolved by repeat pap being all normal since ) have any impact on an ascus pap at age 40. hpv status not known?

Recurrence may occur: Encouraging that the second pap was negative. If you were positive for hpv a higher recurrence rate would be anticipated. You are doing the right thing by having proper surveillance pap exams.
