It might!: It depends on the cause. Radiographs are in order, as is a visit to your doc to find out if inflammtion, or simple degeneration, is the cause.

That's good: Splinting it, decreasing the use of the finger for a week and taking an NSAID like ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen).
