High heels : Place pressure on the knees and are not good. On the other hand flat shoes aren't great either.....Look for a happy medium.

Depends.: If someone has a tight achilles tendon, then a small heel will provide a better quality gait. The phrase "natural walking" is a relative statement because walking is dependent upon many factors including bone structure, weight, etc. There is no question hat excessively high heels cause abnormal forces on the extremities which over time can cause many potential gait problems.
