A member asked:

How does walking uphill and downhill in high heel shoes affect muscle kinesiology?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Its all about the: Achilles tendon. Walking on flat surfaces with high heeled shoes on a regular basis causes shortening/tightening of the tendon. Doing so on hills is a bigger issue between the extra stress on the tendon when going uphill and the strain on the anterior muscles of the leg and overall balance when going downhill.
