High ferritin: Ferrtin is the body storage of reserve iron. If iron gets to low then iron deficiency anemia occurs because iron is necessary to make hemoglobin. When oral iron is taken then when absorbed it raises the storage iron of ferritin. Consult your doctor to see about modifying the dose of iron if the serum ferritin gets to high.
