A member asked:

I have iih with no papelidema. i still have vision disturbances. doubled and blurred out of both eyes. i was told this is physcosamstic. can this be?

Possible: Mostly the visual phenomena with untreated iih disappear when the treatment for the intracranial pressure is successful. Persistence of symptoms suggests that the pressure might be still elevated. Check with the neurologist or neuro-ophthalmologist who is handling this for you.

Pseudotumor cerebri: The double vision can be caused by the high spinal fluid pressure affecting the sixth cranial nerve which controls one of the eye muscles. Frequently changes in posture can lead to transient disturbances in conduction along the swollen optic nerves and lead to blurry vision.
