A member asked:

If someone had altered mental state and took medication or other substances, would they affect the person differently than previous to this state?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tell ur doc info: No two people have the exact same response to medications. An " altered mental state" usually means a significant mental problem and taking various substances that have not been prescribed by a doctor who knows about what is being previously experienced can result in serious problems. It is best in such a case to consult with a psychiatrist and provide all the info about meds and substances.
