Variable: Your age and possible concomitant illnesses like diabetes allow this area to heal at a different rate. If the pink skin lasts more that 6 weeks i would suggest that you visit your family physician.

Can take: 3-6 months for the skin to appear completely normal in color again. Be patient! rubbing vitamin e oil or using mederma on it might help.
