Call your doc: Your doctor may have to make sure you are administering your inhaler properly and in the proper amount. Additional doses may be needed or stepping up of your plan. Preventive medications may be needed or attention in a doctor's office or in an er setting.

Treatment...: You would need to add a steroid inhaler to your albuterol regimen especially if you still have asthma symptoms while taking albuterol. See your doctor so your need for additional therapy can be evaluated.

Develop a plan: Successful asthma control can be achieved when you find a doc you can work with, learn the treatments & monitoring devices & develop a plan. This plan would include a way to tell if your control is getting better or worse (peak flow meter, symptom chart). It would include a plan for daily meds and when to use episodic rescue meds.an understanding of when to call or go in.
