A member asked:

What usually causes tightness in the lower spine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscle tightness: Depending on age, muscles in lumbar spine tighten to protect the nerves and to stabilize vertebra in response to pain (acute) or strain (chronic) . Other stimuli can be deconditioning and suddenly over working muscles like weekend warriors, or bending, stooping, or leaning forward for long periods. Uti does not usually start in lumbar spine. Other conditions could be more serious, seek medical adv.
