Multiple causes.: Perhaps most common in young people are dehydration, or a neurologic phenomenon termed vasovagal or neurodepressor response. Either of these can cause fainting or near-fainting due to a drop in ones blood pressure. Your doctor can guide you in checking your BP sitting and standing to document your fluid status. Less common are cardiac rhythm abnormalities which can be captured by a holter test.
