Nicotine: Nicotine addiction does not improve cognitive function. Smoking ; chewing tobacco (the usual ways people take in this highly addictive drug) is associated with many health risks including cancer and heart disease. At the same time, stimulating nicotinic receptors may improve cognitive function in some individuals with schizophrenia, adhd, parkinson's, and alzheimer's. http://tinyurl.com/klues8j.
