A member asked:

Supposing that chantix can help you with nicotine addition, why shouldn't it work for sugar addiction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Addiction=addiction: Unfortunately is not the case. Chantix works on a specific nicotine receptor, and sugar does not have receptors - it works to increase Dopamine in parts of the brain associated with pleasure. Chantix interesting has been found to help some alcohol drinkers drink less, but does not work for other addictions (cocaine, heroin etc).
