Anaemia: You have what is called a microcytic anaemia, which means you have a lower than normal number of red blood cells and the cells themselves are smaller than normal. There are several possible causes, but among the most common would be iron-deficiency or an inherited abnormality of haemoglobin production such as thalassaemia. Your doctor can test for these.
