A member asked:

I have pcos. i've been having abnormal periods, pregnancy symptoms including mucus discharge but the hpt was negative. could i still be pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy test: The home pregnancy tests are usually very reliable for detecting pregnancy except in the very early stages. Start testing usually after the first missed period. Tests will become positive after about 12 days of conception. If you took the hpt to early you could have a false negative. Repeat the hpt to see if you are pregnant.
