Saline gel: Usually this is due to dry nasal mucosa. Other causes include nasal septal deviation, chronic nasal picking, blood thinner use, inflammatory conditions such as allergies or infection and tumors/neoplasms. Although this is often treated simply with saline gel and certain nasal emollients, occasionally chemical cautery is used. An otolaryngologist may use small scope to evaluate deeper or CT scan
