Need to know more: No single answer works for the wide variety of shift schedules that are out there. Even within a single shift schedule, co-workers may find different solutions to provide optimal sleep. Permanent night workers will use different approaches to those who work rotating shifts. Generally speaking, find a 4-6 hour block (or two 2-3 hour blocks) during days before night shift for sleep and stick to them
