A member asked:

Help please? what is a etg test to do with blood testing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's usually a urine: Test, and am not aware of people testing for it in blood, although i guess one could. Ethyl glucuronide (etg) and ethyl sulfide are substances produced by the metabolism of alcohol that, unlike the parent substance which is only present for hours, can persist for days, depending on how much one drank. It is very sensitive and can pick up alcohol present in mouthwashes and hand sanitizer vapor.
