A member asked:

I was wondering what do you take when you have the worst case of acid reflux?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Acid suppressant: A quick acting one would be an H2-blocker like Pepcid (famotidine) AC. Proton pump inhibitors such as Prilosec are very potent but may take more than 24 hours to take effect.
