Many possibilities: Without knowing a complete history and performing a thorough exam, it's impossible to know what is causing your son's enlarged liver. There are many possible causes of this, including viruses, fat metabolism or storage disorders, impaired venous outflow, biliary tract disorders, and many others. You should consult your child's pediatrician to discuss this.
