It's the same shot: There is NO difference between the "emergency" tetanus shot and the preventative one - they are the exact same shots. However, there is a product called tetanus immune globulin that can be used if someone at high risk is actually showing signs of possible tetanus. That is very different altogether than the vaccines, and the tow are never interchangeable.
