Yes: Start slowly, you will loose weight but don't get carried away your body need not have this 7 days a day or two of rest may reduce te trauma to the knee ankle hip and back.

Weight loss: Exercise is a great idea for controlling weight gain and ultimately helping with weight loss. That said, don't overdo it from the beginning. Increase your physical activity slowly and you will begin to feel better and lose weight over time.
