how long is the recovery time after an ovarian cystectomy?

5-10 days: If done by laparopscopy, you go home the same day. Recovery varies but some women feel great 2 days after surgery and some take closer to 10 days to feel back to normal. But you can resume most normal daily activities within 2-3 days of surgery.

It depends how it is done. If you are a candidate for robotic or laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, you may leave the hospital the same day. You should plan to take two weeks off from work. There is always a chance that a minimally invasive surgery becomes a laparotomy or that your physician recommended an open surgery in the first place. In that case, count on 6 weeks out.
