Hard to say without: Knowing more specifics as in how severe the "pull" was. But in general even for mild strains, resting for 2 weeks isn't unreasonable with a graded(slow increase) reintroduction into exercise after that. Listen to your body, if you're not a professional athlete, "no pain, no gain" really doesn't apply to you. If it hurts, decrease the intensity or just avoid it all together and retry later.
