It can happen: Even though titanium is very strong, it can break with abnormal stress and force.

Breaking an implant: Although not that frequent, certainly can happen for a host of reasons. I'm assuming you mean the head of the implant by the word "stud" . Best to consult with an oral surgeon for treatment options. Hope this helps.
