Improvement: Hirsutism is a chronic condition but it usually gets exacerbated in certain hormonally changing life periods like adolescence and menopause. A woman needs to be treated with pills, electrolysis, or laser as early as possible after diagnosis and for as long as the treatment is well tolerated and effective. If there is an underlying hormonal imbalance it needs to be corrected as it tends to persist.
