No, not really.: No, not really. Probably just some mild arthritis. The bones in the neck are close to the inner ear, so sounds are easily transmitted and picked up. As long as it is just some slight noise and no real pain it is not something to worry about.

Noise when : Turning the neck can be from arthritis and degenerative diseases or headlock injury.You might want to have it checked out before you start any exercises . May need physical therapy , mobility and relaxation exercises to help. Talk with your physician

Common yes, normal -: No. It indicates you most likely have arthritis in the neck. Its very common, and most of us in our 40's plus get it readily. As long as there are no other symptoms, you'll learn to live with it.
