Yes: There are people for whom alcohol, while a substance which raises seizure threshhold in most people, will cause seizures on a consistent basis. These are usually people with an underlying seizure disorder, often temporal lobe or atypical epilepsies (rather than usual grand mal convulsions), but grand mal can occur. If this is you, stop drinking, and get help if you need to. If a friend, tell them.
